2019-2020 Tryouts

Our tryout dates for the 2019-2020 Club season will be posted soon for both Westchester and Rockland.  In the mean time please see the newsletter that was sent out to help ease your mind as we know other clubs are already holding tryouts prior to ours.

Important News - Club Tryouts

Hello Volleyball Family!

Hope that you preseason’s went well and that you are all geared up for your season to begin!

I am reaching out to you all to inform you of new tryout sanctions/rules that GEVA just notified us of last week.  If you have not heard by now, GEVA is now allowing sanctioned tryouts to begin September 8, 2019 for the up-coming club season.  There is a lot of controversy on this, especially with the short notice that the region gave us, but I want you all to know that I have addressed my concerns with GEVA.

I do not expect GEVA to change their minds with all the concerns I expressed and I will continue to work it out with what is in the best interest of our student-athlete’s.  With this being said Alpha Gamma will be conducting tryouts with dates to be determined in October/November.  We do not want to interrupt anyone’s Middle/High School season and looking into the best possibly solution.

Parents & Players… Please do not feel pressured in accepting or committing to club offers that are running tryouts so early.  I know there are more clubs like us that are waiting to have tryouts per our usual Oct/Nov dates.  Please do not let anyone tell you that there might not be a spot for you if you do not take their offer prior to attending other club tryouts.  Just wanted to reassure you of this information and let you know where Alpha Gamma stands.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

We wish you all the best of luck in your Middle/High School season!

    Play Hard;
    Play Smart;
    Play to have fun!
    It is our belief that working on and acquiring these
     skills will help young student-athletes
    develop into responsible adults.

    "Work on your weaknesses as well as your strengths. If you are uncomfortable with a certain skill--practice, practice, practice. You must get out of your comfort zone and work through your discomfort if you want to improve. Practice is the key to improvement and gaining confidence."
